I use AT&T DSL service and download all emails to a mail client, Mail (Macintosh). My main account can send and receive emails, but sub accounts cannot send emails, but they can receive emails. Whenever I attempt to send an email, a window pops up, saying that my sub account was rejected by server. All the settings are the same as the main account. Seemingly, when I send emails on the web, there is no such a problem. I am very puzzled. Any idea at all? Thank you.
Sub accounts fail to send emails?
blackcat,
I still can't tell you why it is happening but I can tell you that it happening for us as well. We use a combo of web and client email, but our last successful "sent" mail from a client is 25-Feb-08.
We can send and receive from the main account in the mail client but only receive on our sub accounts in the mail client. We can both send and receive from all accounts in web mail.
The server seems to think these sub account emails are coming from unverified addresses. I also see a message about connection to the SMTP server failing and to check settings (they haven't changed in forever) or there is an issue on the server (not so since main account can send).
Hopefully an answer will appear soon!
Sub accounts fail to send emails?
Noticing the same problem and my description is the same as yours (settings are the same as Master account, no need to change anything at my end). I am wondering if we are experiencing a bug from Yahoo's 'new ' email. I am going to look into whether there is a new verification process as a result of this 'new' email for sub accounts.
