I have windows Xp with windows firewall and basically I want to find my DNS Server. Some router's act as a proxy between the actual name servers and your computer. I know that this is the case, because the Default Gateway will list the same ip address as the Name Servers entry. Help Please
How do you access your router web interface?
Ask your ISP to get the Interface.
If yours is comcast, then type http://192.168.0.1
PS: You must connect the router to your PC by using the Ethernet CAble.

Go to start/run and type cmd and enter. Then type ipconfig and enter. The default gateway (router) address is the last entry.

You didn't mention if you have an actual physical router or not? Without more knowledge of the details of your configuration and what stands between your computer and the internet, it's hard to be exact.
