We are doing a lab in school, and we have created a FTP and now need a Web server. Our lab has all the routers and switches ready but we need to start a Web Server. We have like 24 PCs.
How do I start a Web Server in Windows Server 2003?
Make sure Microsoft Internet Information Server is installed and that the WWW service is running. From there it is a snap--- design the page content, set up your security and you're good to go. You can find step-by-step instructions on Microsoft's IIS page below--- you might have to hunt around a bit but it's there.
Also make sure you have a DNS record for it :)
How do I start a Web Server in Windows Server 2003?
The START WEB SERVER command starts the Web server of the 4th Dimension application on which it has been executed (4th Dimension, 4D Server or 4D Client). The database is therefore published on your Intranet network or on the Internet.
If the Web Server is successfully started, OK is set to 1, otherwise OK is set to 0 (zero). For example,
if the TCP/IP network protocol is not properly configured, OK is set to 0.
