i tried the host file, and the resricted sites website content, nothing has blocked it so far.
I want to block a specific website. i tried everything. What else can i do? i use firefox.?

ok, if you are running widows XP, do as the following :
1- go to start --> run ---> cmd
2- type in cmd : notepad C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts
3- you get a notepad file opened, type the following in it :
127.0.0.1 www.google.com (the website you want)
4- save it !
now, try to open www.google.com page on any browser, it won't open !!
PS: but why anybody want to block google ? :P

look ive did everything.screw i.t if you have children have them tell you what websites their on it is easy to look up something nice and come out with something internet filthy(credit card theft,pevertive syombols, and frickin everything you can imagine) lite sites. never look up anything downloadable,(games, movies, and some times music) and NO lime wire!!! you can use NetDog : http://www.netdogsoft.com
it's very easy, just add the website to "Always blocked website list" in NetDogAdmin.exe.
