hello!
I want to build my own personal website as a hobby.
I've been researching website design/ build software.
- Has anyone any experience of Magix website maker?
- If so, how many templates does the bought package have?
I have my own domain name and I'm not sure how it works given that a domain name comes with the package as well as 5 GB of webspace.
- Do I still need a web host and how do I get my website design from my pc onto the host?
Thank you in advance.
Scotty

Creating websites is no walk in the park, and as such shouldn't be done using so called WYSIWYG editors.
The best way, (and often the easiest in the long run), is to learn the standards, most people should be able to master the basics in about a day. Using tutorials as their referance, while building their website step-by-step.
The before mentioned editors, has poisoned the internet, with websites that dosent render correctly, regardless of font-size, screen resolutions, and Operating system, used to view the site'(s).
Often people will come to the forums, and seak help to solve their "Editor caused problems", and the answer will be the same each time, dont use such editors.
Here are some websites, which will get you started.

Right first you would need to find out if the current host has ftp or a online website control panel. If it doesn't (highly unlickley) then you can find a free webhost and ask your old webhost what the nameservers are. Once you have these, you would goto the free hosts website and put in the nameservers. Then you need to find the free webhosts ftp information. Save that for later. I wouldn't recomend Magix Website Maker becuase it is flash and not alot of people have flash. I sugest Web Page Maker v2. It is really simple.
