I'm starting up a small business and have been researching web hosts for my site. I don't know anything about webhosts, so I'm not really sure what I'm looking for. I've seen a lot of options at or around the $7/ month range, so I'd like to stay in that category. But I need one that's fairly easy to use. I've got a good amount of overall computer knowledge, but building a website is something I've never done and I'd prefer to not have to buy one of those expensive programs to do so.
I was about to sign up w/ HostMonster (it seemed to get good reviews online), but then I read somewhere that it's difficult to use. Anyone agree or disagree with that?
I've also heard that the Yahoo web host isn't that great.
Thanks for your help!
Reliable, easy to use webhost?
It kind of depends on how we define "difficult"... all the web hosting companies use similar interfaces... cPanel for web server settings, phpMyAdmin for databases, etc.
If you're looking for one where you can get a site up and running without having to build it "from scratch", doing all the design work, then look for one that has the Fantastico auto-installer. With just a few mouse clicks, you can have your own site based on a content management system like Drupal, Jooma, WordPress and a lot of others... and once that is up and running, adding pages to your site is not much more difficult than putting a question on Yahoo Answers... it's all in your web browser.
