I need to create a forum in my Quotaless account. I uploaded the punBB script in a directory in the website. But when I want to install it, the questions comes.

For Database Type I put MySQL standard. I did the admin setup by myself. I made a database named "forum". Then for the Database server hostname I put the IP address of Quotaless. For the database name I put "forum" which is already created. Then I created a username and put that in the username and password space. I put the the username and underscore.

I know that I did something wrong because a error message keeps on coming to the next page saying " Unable to connect to MySQL server. MySQL reported: Host "ip not shown' is not allowed to connect to this MySQL server.

Could anyone please help me in this situation. What are you supposed to put in the database space if you already created the database?

Could you also install a database in your Yahoo Geocites so then later I will just redirect it to my real website?

I run a free hosting service and this is the kind of question I would be expecting my users to be asking me, not a forum like YA. I strongly suggest that you ask your hosting company for a solution and if they don't want to help, go somewhere else. It's a very competitive market and support should be the one thing to expect from your host.

90% of the time the sql database name is "localhost" , if its not that then maybe something like sql.yourhost.com.

Also, you created a sql database, then you have to create a sql username and password for THAT database then plug that into the script.

Right after its loaded, go to the webpage and it will guide you threw setting up your admin account.
