I want to host online streaming radio, how do I start... any specific advise will help. How to create a website, host streaming.
How do i create a website and host online streaming. What do I need e.g. equipments, hardware, etc.?
If you want to host something like that on your own PC, you'll need a very fast outbound Internet connection - probably not available on any home broadband service. You'll need large robust hard drives to store video.
You'll need a computer running a web server such as Apache, a scripting language such as PHP, and a streaming media server such as Darwin.
You'll probably want to manage your site with a CMS such as Joomla - Joomla has lots of add-ons and modules for media serving, e-commerce etc.
All the above applications are open source and free.
If you can't do this on your own PC, you'll need to find a hosting service that provides all of this. Although it is likely to be expensive.
