Groupshield 6 is installed on our Comms Svr running Exchange 2000 Standard Edition. This is the ISA Server and the e-mail gateway. This server forwards E-mail to 3 other Exchange Servers at three separate geographical sites within the local domain. I have spent hours trying to get the best out of the Spam Killer plug in to Groupshield but it is still letting huge amounts of SPAM through (it is trapping a lot also). Im not certain if I need to install additional copies of groupshield on each of our other three exchange servers in the separate OU鈥檚 but I have a feeling Groupshield and SPAM killer only work on the gateway server?
Any advice? Maybe there is better Anti SPAM software? A lot of SPAM is being caught but mostly its the Viagra and Penis Enlargement (!) type and not other sorts offering fake watches, business opportunities etc! I can import a blacklist.txt file but im not sure of the layout nor where to download a decent one from. Im hoping there is a web site one!
Its hard to catch all SPAM?
Its not that much of help, but they are now spamming using images of text instead of actual text. Try blocking images and then setting up e-mail notices to users, so they can release any safe images that get blocked.
I use MIME Sweeper, not sure if you can do it with your software.
Hope this is of some help

Its hard to catch all SPAM?
well i dont know about your email software but mine has this little spam filter that allows you to type keywords and if the keyword matches any of the text in the email then it classifies them as spam. so just put the usuall words that appear in a spm email.
