after having numerous problems with using Internet Explorer I started using Mozilla Firefox. I am not having problems with Mozilla Firefox. The internet is slow and not function at times. I keep getting this message:
The connection has timed out
The server at walk.avonfoundation.org is taking too long to respond.
* The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few
moments.
* If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network
connection.
* If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure
that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.
My HP computer is about 18 months old, and I have Verizon High Speed DSL. What can I do to make my internet run better with out spending a bunch of money. Thank you in advance for you help.

this is easy to fix, just download a free copy of CCleaner and then run it, it's will safely delete all your temp files etc for you, then reboot your system and defrag your hard drive, i think your system is full of rubbish and just needs a good cleanup, also when you defrag do it in safe mode so your screen saver etc will not effect it. this will help you.

are you using wireless?
if you are using wireless and a usb wireless adapter on your pc to send/receive signals then that could be why
those things are horrible and incredibly unreliable
you can probly get help from verizons tech support on this
