I was given this error message and tried to fix everything but to no avail. I don't use proxy, and i turned my firewall off even. Nothing worked.
You tried to access the address http://www.google.com/, which is currently unavailable. Please make sure that the Web address (URL) is correctly spelled and punctuated, then try reloading the page.
Make sure your Internet connection is active and check whether other applications that rely on the same connection are working.
Check that the setup of any Internet security software is correct and does not interfere with ordinary Web browsing.
If you are behind a firewall on a Local Area Network and think this may be causing problems, talk to your systems administrator.
Try pressing the F12 key on your keyboard and disabling proxy servers, unless you know that you are required to use a proxy to connect to the Internet. Reload the page.
I was just trying to get to http://www.google.com
Trying out Opera Web Browser, but still cannot connect?
Read This Again:
The problem is mostly because of a temporary snap of your internet connection and has nothing to do with Opera browser.
When you get this same error again, try to open the same web address in another web browser and check.
If the page wouldn't open in another browser as well, then its proved that the error is due to your internet connection and not Opera browser.
Before turning the firewall off, allow Opera browser to access the web.
