I need to get some names of some software or companies that offer discussion forum hosting. I've done a web search and am coming up short.... I found a program called "Jive" but it is extremely expensive.

Anyone know of some good software to look into? Or a web hosting service that offers discussion forums?

If by discussions you mean message boards or forums, phpBB and SMB all work well, pretty much and paid web hosting will have some forum software that will be 1 or 2 click installs if you know nothing. If you no something then i would recommend http://www.opensourcecms.com/ as they have hundreds to choose from with demos so you can see how they work.

If you want free and know PHP and SQL then you can use PHPnuke

hey bro, i dont know if u r familiar with PHP programming, but that would help u alot to do the discussion forum, or u can search for the code and just paste it there inside ur page...

PHPBB is probably the most used one. But there are several out there. Go to http://www.freshmeat.net/ and browse by programming language - PHP.
