I know you need an ftp program, but only sometimes, (as many have online site builders/publishing interfaces),
so why have, say TEN ftp accounts, included with a web hosting package, which only permits one domain? ie user?

For you to be able to post files up to the server. Can setup different accounts to default to different directories, so can do auto-publishing from your editor.

You should be able to permission certain accounts to have limited access to specific folders on your server. This will allow the added security to sensitive information in an environment where multiple developers are accessing your application.
Kinda like a "Need To Know" basis.

Files Transfer Protocol used by some programs
like Front Page to publish your website
Can also use the FTP account information
with an FTP client like WS_FTP_LE
to place files directly on your web space
in any directory or a new directory
Under no conditions should you ever disclose
the FTP account info to anyone
It is not as said above used to give people access in anyway
It is for YOU and ONLY you to use
