I know nothing about websites, so I'm trying to learn hands on right now. I downloaded an ftp and also an html editor. I've been trying to figure out google ads. I think the best way to see them is if I upload my website and let google crawl through. My question now is - the ftp site asks for my user id and password. Is this the username I go to on godaddy? Because quite honestly, I don't know any other user ID on my computer because it's not shared. Please help. I"m getting frustrated and reconsidering my purchases.

Yes, the user id and password are those provided by Godaddy. These enable the ftp program to access the server to upload your files (html, documents, pictures etc.)
