If you want to post information on big websites such as yahoo, you have to play by the rules.
Certain laws such as UK's Racial and Religious Hatred Act 2006 and the Defamation Act 1996 will prevent content being held on web servers.
So my question:
How can you post your own ideas free of such laws and say what you want? If we have true free speech there must be a way of being able to host content that many agree with whatever the offence to other groups.
I have thought that foreign web hosting could be the way forward but I do not know how the law is applied for completely 'free' speech.
Any ideas to allow such freedom would be welcome.
Freedom of speech on the Internet?
In order to understand why there is a big push to censor the internet (they'll say its gambling and porn), you have to first understand what information is out there that the people in power would be afraid of.
Freedom of speech on the Internet?
There is, host your own website or find a willing host.
As long as a company owns the server, you are held to their rules.
"Freedom of Speech" is merely related to GOVERNMENT regulating speech in public...Yahoo can set whatever rules it wants since it is their forum.
Freedom of speech on the Internet?
Purchase and own your own space.
This is technically Yahoo's space to manage as they see fit.
