I want to launch a forum-like site on the web with opinion polls, surverys, questionnaires etc. Which would be the best server side language to program such things on - JSP, PHP, ASP or any other?
Please consider learning curve - I have programming experience but nothing done on the web yet. Please also consider hosting issues - I plan to use yahoo domains.

PHP and MySQL, simply because they're free, open source, and much more powerful than any other combo.

PHP/MySQL by far. its free and open source. the only guff i have with php is having to declare variables with a dollar sign (im hust a lazy person.
