Where can I design a website like this?    [Imwebhost]

http://www.joehuntmusic.co.uk/

Or

http://donshimoda.co.uk/

They are both very effective, but the hosting sites I've been looking at, you have to have pictures of tree's or buildings, I want something similar to these sites!

I have a Domain address (www.emmacherry.co.uk) just no hosting web site- if thats what I need!

Where can I design a website like this?

You need graphics editing software, you need to learn how to use that, then you need to learn how to turn your images and design into code so it will show as a webpage.

The first page is done simply in a program like Photoshop. You desaturate (turn it into black and white) then add the colours.

The second site is just a photo that has the torn edges added. Its actually going to be a rectangular picture, the torn edges to the edge of the picture are black, the background of the site is also black so it looks like the torn edges are sitting on the black background!

You need to optimise your graphics for the web, they must be at 72 dpi and the exact height and width in pixels. It's no good loading a huge print size photo onto a web page, it would tke too long.

There's a freeware program you could use to do the images, its called Paint.net. It uses layers like Photoshop and has got all the tools you need.

Another good one is Deep Paint from Right Hemisphere.

You need to learn HTML coding, you can do that in Notepad. The 'Dummies' series of books have several that teach you how to write web pages.
