I charge a 1 time design fee and then a monthly fee to host the site and do any maintanance. So they own the design but they are renting my space. I have two clients who have yet to pay for January and show no signs of doing so. One of them is a habitual problem, she is always late and I am getting sick of it. The other is a new client, both have gotten 3 invoices and I have not seen a check.
Wondering if I can remove their content until payment is made. Could replace the "home" page with something that says "This Site is under construction" or something like that.
Sick of being jerked around. One of the two even had the nerve to send me a bunch of changes and additions she wants done ASAP.
Thanks for your help/suggestions
What is my recourse if clients are not paying for their web pages?
January is not over yet. you should give them a "good will period" up until the middle-end of february and then take the actions that you suggested, with which i agree

You replace the home page with "suspended page" message until they pay up. InvisionPower does that to their hosting clients that are late in payments.
Don't ask me how I know... LOL

Then shutdown their website and delete everything that鈥檚 there. That鈥檚 simple. It鈥檚 the same thing with a landlord. They kick their tenant鈥檚 stuff out with the Sheriff鈥檚 deputy as escort if the tenant doesn鈥檛 pay the rent. Have some guts. Warn them first and give them a time period before you kick them out.
