Currently I am hosting a website on my server at home, but I will soon be moving and the only computer I will have is my laptop. I would like to find a way where I can use a wireless router and a LAN server (fancy external hardrive case) to keep my website up even when the laptop is not there. Is there a way to do this?
Is it possible to have an External Hard drive and router act as a stand alone web server?
Nope. If you have a linksys wrt54g then maybe if you use a hacked firmware.

I think that I did actuatlly find a solution to my problem. There are all in one NAS boxes which have web serving capabilites using apache. They also come with hard drives attached. In case anyone is interested an example of one can be found at http://www.quadmicroworks.com/... Report It
