i do not understand what hosting means can anybody enlighten me. Or does anyone know of a company that will do it all for me.(please help as i am not computer literate.) Thanks.
I want to register a domain name,and create a web site?
There are two steps to creating a website.
1. You need a domain name. This is your "address" on the internet, eg http://www.yoursite.com. Think of this as being like the address of your house (eg 123 Windsor Road).
2. You need web hosting. This is your web space, and is where you store all your files. Your domain name is like a front to this space. Think of this as being like your house. The domain name is the address, the web hosting is the house (data) itself.
There are loads of hosting and domain name companies out there, have a look around. I think that Lythall Technologies ( http://www.lythallcorp.com ) offers free domain names with hosting packages and the same may be true of OneAndOne (http://www.1and1.co.uk). Most hosting companies will offer support for new website builders like you.
There is usually a great difference in terms of pricing so shop around before you buy.
