http://www.new-age-expo.com is the website. I finally figured out how to publish it, and then the page shows all this white space that isn't in my document or in the preview. Does it have something to do with godaddy.com? How do I fix it? Help! This is for a new client and I am on a timeline- I just thought it would be easier to use the program already on my PC rather than paying so much money for hosting with publishing tools. I want to be able to fix it and learn how to avoid this in the future! Thanks in advance!!!
I am using Microsoft Publisher for the first time to publish to the web. Help! White space!?
That white space to the right isn鈥檛 caused by Godaddy, it鈥檚 caused by Publisher. Publisher won鈥檛 allow you to dynamically adjust your page width for every screen resolution.
I don鈥檛 think the extra white space is all that big of deal, but there are some other problems with the site such as the links at the bottom of the pages don鈥檛 work with Firefox. I also noticed that some pages have text inserted by the template that needs to be either deleted or rewritten.
Although Publisher allows you to very easily make a website, its pages don鈥檛 always display properly with every browser. You might be better off using another program to design your site. Nvu is a good, free program and you can get it at nvu.com. You can also get some great free templates from oswd.org.
