If there was a site that offer free domain names, they will be bombarded with requests from inexperienced teen web designers, and you know what'll happen next?
They will file for bankruptcy.
In other words-
There is a reason why there are no free domain names.
I've been following these types of questions for a while now, and no one has ever given a legitimate website that you can just sign up and they will give you a free domain name in 5 seconds.

no one is going to pay to have you register a domain name. you have to play for it yourself

there is no free domain name registrar, thats like asking where to get a free PO box.

Unfortunately, there is no such thing as a FREE domain. The best you can get is a sub-domain. But, off the top of my head, I can name a few really good free website creators.
