I wish to round off my portfolio of domain names, with .co.uk and .us names.
A search has revealed prices right upto 35 GBP. I need to operationalise my names into websites; I require inexpensive design
and hosting to go with it. Any suggestions. Response should be honest, first hand experience, no plugs, please. thanks

Following site is quite good to register domains as price is reasonable with free privacy. Some charge about $5/ year just for free privacy.

Try http://www.dakotawebhosting.com Most of their domain names are around $10 or less I think and they have hosting for less than $10 as well.

Seems like some people cannot understand "no plugs"
The first response is a Commission Junction link to get to iPower.com I'm happy to recommend iPower.com (aka iPowerWeb.com and iPowerWeb.ca) and their domain prices are fairly good, though I cannot register .us (I'm in UK).
iPower.com offer a website builder, but you would need to use their hosting for those pages to be visible (unless you kept one domain there to use for design work, and copied the pages onto other hosting service(s))
If you used some other hosting firm (like dreamhost.com) you could park all your domains for a low annual fee.
