I'd like to cancel my account with my current web host because they have terrible down times, but their support person has been very nice and had given me upgrades at a low cost, so I don't want to sound mean or leave them on bad terms, in case I need them to work with my new host with my account/files transfer...
so...can anyone write me a example of what I can say to them? like "I would like to cancel an account with you because...." or something like that..what should I say?
(also, what is the recommended amount of time I should tell them before my plans with them runs out? I have 3 months left with them...they didn't write it in their TOS so I don't know)
Best way to tell your web host you want to cancel your account?
You may just say you are planning to move to multihosting (hosting unlimited domains). You may also say that you are starting your own hosting at home.
Are you looking for a new host? There are many good webhosting sites.

Best way to tell your web host you want to cancel your account?
Just tell them straight you want to cancel, and why. Your new host will take care of all the data transfers, hope you got your web backed up so you can upload it to new host. I look after a web site and were changing host, mainly because of time differences. You don't get a refund so research you new host thoroughly and move. Don't let them talk you out of it you moving because of the down time, every time my websites down I loose money. do it know before you contract expires so you have a smooth change over.
