I have been primarily using IIS on my local machine the past few years, but recently switched to WAMP Server because IIS was too slow and testy when dealing with PHP.

Anyway, I got my web page to be viewable on my local machine using the localhost address, and it even works if I use http://mycomputername - but no other computers on the network can see it. I did a ping from another computer to make sure my computer name was resolving right, and everything looked normal.

I never had this problem with IIS! I just started the server and everyone could access it.

Have you updated mycomputer name in the httpd.conf file? Look for the servername variable
