"An error occurred on the server when processing the URL. Please contact the system administrator" - this is what it says when i try and preview my asp pages in internet explorer. i have all asp programs on my computer including micro framwork and microsoft visual web developer. i was looking in a forum and some people said that the problem could be to do with IIS 6 not allowing access databases unlike IIS 5. what do you suggest i do.

ps could it be because i have vista and not xp?

Go to the advanced options of your Internet Explorer and disable the "Show user friendly error messages" option, then try your page again, and see if it gives you a more specific error.

i have xp and took all the upgrades and had to take them all out again

did you go to xpforum , you will have to sign in

have you tried setting up the ODBC?If not then theres your problem.I am currently using asp and ms access for IIS6 and I am programming it with vista so I know for a fact that it works.

Also check your source code for any errors.I am using DSN to connect to my database which is alot easier.If you want to know how to do that then just email me and I will be happy to help you.

the problem cuold lie with your hosting provider. they may not allow certain access!
