I signed up for a plan with a webhost which supports unlimited domains on the plan. Does that mean that I can have domain1.com and domain2.com with seperate directories on the server.
When I go to add the domains I see the following explanation
Addon Domains are domain names that point to subdirectories within your account.
Does that mean that the domain add feature is the same as domain forwarding in which visitors to domain2.com see domain1.com/domain2files or something like that?
How do multiple domains work on a hosting plan?
I've had many domains and you get two separate domains. for example, under domain one, you have a folder called domain two. the addon domain points to domain two. so if you type in www.domain2.com, you get taken directly to that folder. in the address bar, it shows up as www.domain2.com NOT www.domain1.com/domain2.
also, if you do go to www.domain1.com/domain2, it will still go there. there are ways around that though called redirect scripts.
