What else should check? ports? services installed? Help me!

If your modem is connected properly.

Just see in right hand top corner, you will see a network icon there check IP address shown.

If it is what you wanted then there is problem with settings in your browser.

Use mozilla browser which comes default with Ubuntu.

Go to tools> options> advanced> network.

Do proper settings there. And it should work.

If you are still facing problems then try those settings in Mozilla in Windows if you have one. Once successful there try those again in ubuntu. It will work.

Is the modem connected right to your computer, or do you have a router? If its to the computer, do a search around for PPPOE, or PPP-over-Ethernet. You may have to put some username/password information into the system. If the modem is hooked to the router, you need to get into the router, and configure it with the right info for your ADSL account.
