The original host was sold, the new came in and raised rates, that's OK. But they want me to pay the difference, and I paid up a year last May. Until I pay, my site is down, my email is locked, etc.
Who regulates web hosting? I paid a year, now they want more money for last 9 months. shut it down til pay up?
Call customer service. If they will not reactivate your account without having you pay extra ask for your money back for the remaining months you have paid and move to another host. If they can't be reasonable and honnor the contract you had with the previous company then theres no reason to continue to do bussiness with them. If this hosting company is also who you use for DNS registry then it might complicate things, if not you should have no problem moving if it comes to that.
Good luck.
