I tried sending an email to 8 friends this morning and it didn't go through, I got this message:
Remote host said: 550 Mail rejected by Windows Live Hotmail for policy reasons. A block has been placed against your IP address because we have received complaints concerning mail coming from that IP address. We
recommend enrolling in our Junk E-Mail Reporting Program
I haven't been sending any bulk emails out or anything, I belong to 2 yahoo groups, but i rarely even write to those. I don't get this, how do i clear this up? I had a problem with phishing on my myspace account and they blocked it and now this,
can anyone tell me how i get unblocked? thanks
Not allowing me to send emails!?
.
Hello Bernadette F
The 550 message confirms your address was rejected during spam detection at Hotmail.
You should immediately check your computer for viruses and spyware. Yahoo! Security offers a free scan http://security.yahoo.com/ that you can run today.
If your computer is infected, the free virus scan may close a "backdoor" used to control (hijack) your computer.
There are full-feature no-cost antivirus and spyware programs you can download. You can't beat free and these two are among the best available: AVG http://free.grisoft.com/ which provides daily updates (other commercial antivirus programs update weekly) and Windows Defender http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security...
The 550 message is a sign something "bigger" may be going on, not just a single email being rejected.
Wishes,
pup
