I'm a television reporter, who's career goal is to host a show on the Discovery Channel. A few weeks ago, I met with the head of a different network, we talked for a long time, and we really hit it off. This man, "X" said he could see me doing work for their channel, and from that day on, we corresponded every day via email. When he went on a business trip a week later, he emailed to say he'd like to have a phone interview on Monday. I missed his email, and when I called, he didn't pick up. I emailed that day, and still nothing. I called a week later...nothing. It's been nearly 2 weeks. Should I call again? His office number, not his cell? Should I email again? This is the president of the network, so I'm thinking he's busy...and we really meshed on ideas and our work goals. What's he thinking? Have I been duped? Should I call his work number tomorrow? Garrrrrrrr....the waiting! The mental turmoil! I guess it doesn't help that I truly dislike my current job!
Is this potential boss really interested in me, or is he just stringing me along?
Stringing you along

Leave a polite email apologizing for missing his call; offer to set up another appointment to take his call if this is possible. He may have also been a bit ticked off that you didn't answer, like not showing up a job interview and this may have based an impression. It is up to you to fix it. Good luck.
