Is this because my computer is being blocked (and why) or that yahoo's mail server is being blocked?

Probably not you, but your ISP. When I was on dial-up, Netzero and Juno, and sometimes RR, would block all mail from the ISP that I was using. I emailed Netzero once, and asked them why they were doing that. The denied it at first, but I persisted. They finally said they were getting a lot of spam from the ISP that I was using, which was Ohiohills. They get in a snit against one another, and the customers lose. When that happened, I just used my Yahoo mail.
