I am leaving sbcglobal.net, therefore I am looking for a FREE new e-mail server. I will be accessing it from a friend鈥檚 house. Yahoo.com comes to mind first. The biggest PROBLEM is all those hundreds of funny e-mails that are on my present sbcglobal.net that I want to keep.
1. Forwarding them one-at-a-time will take 鈥渨eeks鈥?
Can I move them to my 鈥渘ew鈥?address all at once?
2. Is yahoo.com 鈥済ood-as-any鈥?for a 鈥渇ree鈥?host?
3. Yahoo! Mail Plus is $19.99 / year. Will that hold my sbcglobal.net
email open for another year?

Here is some information on what will happen when you change your Internet provider. It will get changed to yahoo.com if you request it. That is the only server they will switch it to.

You may transfer your data and preferences after the sub account is deleted, which occurs after 90 days of account suspension. If you attempt to log into the Yahoo! network (att.yahoo.com) using your AT&T Yahoo! ID and password within 90 days after deleting your sub account, you will be presented with the option of transferring your data and preferences to a new Yahoo! ID. After 100 days, any data and preferences will be deleted from AT&T Yahoo! ID.

I would say they are as good as any free host that you can get.

You can't hold the sbcglobal.net once you cancel with the AT&T even though you are paying the $19.99 a year for the Mail Plus. You will have to use the yahoo.com.
