I purchased a domain name from yahoo (for $9.95 a year) and I have built my own website using NVU. I am getting so frustrated trying to publish this website. Can someone please help me out by giving me step by step instructions, or pointing me in the right direction? Do I need to purchase a web hosting plan just to upload a file (index.html) to my www..com? I will be most appreciative for all who help me with this issue. Thanks in advance.

THAT every website when uploaded with FTP you should mantain the folder structure

suppose your website name is www.easy.com

so first you will have a folder

www.easy.com

inside it...

you will have files like

index.html,service.html,and the rest...

plus there you have a folder(if you have images)

name folder as image.

see every file inside folder www.easy.com

is webpage that you have created in nvu or frontpage or whichever webdesigning tool.

No, you need an ftp program though. I am going to recommend for ease of use, because it comes with an easy mode, and it is free, that you get 1st page 2000. It has a launch button that allows you to upload your webpages. I have used it, and it works great. Just load in your webpages, hit launch, and it makes the ftp connection for you.
