I don't want to use the officelive templates. I want to create my own and somehow transfer it to my domain on office live.

Presently, they allow that only by using Frontpage.
In your control panel, disable the template pagemaker
and enable Frontpage.
Send an email to customer service that you would like
to be able to edit the HTML (without having to use Frontpage).
Perhaps they'll add that feature if enough people request it.
