I'm new to GoDaddy. I bought a .com domain, but want to know if I could use web hosting other than GoDaddy.com's because its pretty expensive.
GoDaddy.com question!?
you can use any host you want but godaddy offers great support and some eay to use tools
GoDaddy.com question!?
Absolutely!
When you register for a hosting account, just log back into godaddy.com, and go to domain managment, and update your DNS - also known as nameservers - then this will point to the name servers at your host.
lunarpages.com is a great host - and 7 bucks a month.
GoDaddy.com question!?
Yes you can, but you're better off sticking with GoDaddy. Reason being, if they are your registrar and they host your site, there's less people to call (and no way for them to say "it's the other guy") in case there's a problem.
And sure, there's other hosting companies, and there are cheaper ones, but reliability is an issue.
Out of 5 different hosting services I tested a few weeks, 2 being "free", one costing about $15 a year, one costing about $7 a month, and GoDaddy, GoDaddy was the only one that I didn't have any problems with. The others had problems ranging from ftp errors, horrible latency, horrible page load (bandwidth) issues, and horrible tech support (never use GlobeDomain hosting - ever).
Hope that helps.
