I am a model, & a few years ago the photographer who did my portfolio set up a website for me. I paid for it but he registered in his name, & did not include the purchase of my site on my invoice. 1 yr ago I contacted him to ask him to transfer the registration into my name. It was very difficult to get him to do this. 1st he told me that he couldn't, & then said he asked someone & it would cost me $200. My brother then contacted him as he works in the IT field, & the photographer then agreed to put it in my name. He emailed me telling me it was now in my name, & then stopped hosting it. I have recently decided to put it back up, only to discover he did not transfer it into my name at all. The domain name was due for renewal on 10th Feb, so I put my name down to purchase it when it became available. It has now past the 10th Feb and the photographer has re-registered it until 2008. The site is not even up & running, & he has no connection to it. Surely he is not allowed to use my name?

I would try to take him to small claims court because I would think since it was originally supposed to be in your name when you purchased it you're entitled to compensation and the site to be given back to you and put in your name........I don't think he had any right to do that because you were orginally purchasing the site to be put in your name specifically
