In an email address, such as
jones@yahoo.com, yahoo is the domain. So, if someone bought their last name as a domain, the above example would be jones@jones.com
What does it mean when someone says they bought their last name as a domain?
I think it means... Like if your last name was Williams...
Then you'd buy....
www.williams.com
I'm not sure, though.
What does it mean when someone says they bought their last name as a domain?
If nobody else had bagged it, they could have had it for free. Now the person who did bag it has decided that money is more valuable than the domain-name, and the person who has bought it has decided that the domain-name is more valuable than money.
What does it mean when someone says they bought their last name as a domain?
I didn't know it had to be bought, but then again so many things do! ;(
It means that after the @ in your email address or other correspondence online you have put in your last name (or a business name) as the domain to follow the @, rather than the domain of a more common use, such as aol, etc.
