I was thinking about buying a domain name for investment. I've read about the risks, etc-- and I know they're sometimes hard to re-sell. But I found a couple of "good ones" and I think I'd like to pay a little money to buy them and hold on to them for a year (or three or five).
But my question is this-- let's say I buy a domain name through GoDaddy and hold on to it for three years. And finally someone wants to buy the domain at a price I am comfortable with..... what do I have to do? In other words, how do I transfer the domain from ME to THEM?
Also, if you have bought and re-sold domain names before, I'd be interested to hear about your experiences.
Thanks for reading... any and all answers are appreciated.
Selling Domain Names -- What do I do if someone buys my domain name?
It is fairly easy... Godaddy has instructions for transferring a domain name to a new owner. (It is called a change of account (also known as a "change of ownership" or "registrant transfer").
My experience was not in selling a domain name but in selling a website w/domain... not quite the same. Check out the forums and what makes a domain name worth purchasing... http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread...
