I have a domain at DreamHost and i was wondering if I can change the name of my domain. Is there away you can do that?

Let's get this clear. Do you mean you want to change the name of your Domain registrar or the name of the domain itself. you can transfer your domain name to another registrar- usually after six month of the initial registration. If you want to change the name of your domain, some registrar will allow this while other won't. You may want to check with DreamHost if they can do that.

If you want to use a different domain name for website just get the name you want and use a 301 redirect to your existing website.

You can have as many domain names as you want and have them all redirected to your website. Just make sure to use a 301 redirect so the search engines won't penalize you.
