I am finding that some of my registered domain names are being used by an unknown company to create directory listing pages. How can I find out who is doing this and isn't that illegal?
My registered webname www.crystalorigami.com is being used to redirect to a list page. Whois do doing this?
I looked into this briefly and since I can't tell who you are it is difficult to determine if your domain name has been somehow hijacked. I suggest you go to Samspade.org and type in your domain name. Click the button called "Do Stuff" and you will find the registration information for that domain name. By clicking on the DNS address (the long string of numbers at the top of the Whois page) you will find the server that is hosting this website and contact information. Your first contact if your domain has somehow been hijacked should probably be your domain name registrar, which appears to be Register.com.
The most likely way that this can happen is that your domain registration expired and someone renewed before you did using that domain name. Some companies specialize in this business. Domain hijacking is also possible. Good luck.

Yeah, I tried to renew one of my domains a few days after it expired, and it was already gone. They redirected my church web site to a site that sold gravestones...in rather poor taste, I felt. That's probably what happened to you, too.
