I've been thinking of starting my own website, publishing stories of my own and of others.
I've been designing it on my Mac computer, with the program "iWeb," and have been searching domain names and so on.
But, despite my having enough content to do this, I don't know how I would go about starting this site. I don't know about web hosting, domains, good prices, or anything really.
What would be the basic steps I need to take towards me creating a website consisting of written stories? I appreciate any help. Thank you.

The most painless way to do this...
1) Go with a web host that has the Fantastico auto-install utility.
2) Use Fantastico to auto-install the Drupal content management system (literally, all it takes is a few clicks and in minutes, you're done).
3) Log into your new Drupal website and start posting your stories.
4) Get other people to sign up and post their stories. As the site owner, you have the option to pre-approve each story before it goes "public".
5) Sign up for a Google AdSense account, and install the Drupal AdSense add-in module, if you'd like to earn some bucks on your new site.

Since you have a mac, you already have the software to host the website on your computer. The only thing you will need is to get a domain name. dyDNS.org is a site that I have used.
