I've created a domain user name and a computer object in the active directory. When I want to log on to the domain locally from a windows XP - based system, the windows freezes in the Loading profile phase.
Also through the remote desktop, it also shows an error message which says I don't have permission to log on locally.
I've checked the checkbox in the system properties in the local computer.
I cannot logon to a domain that i've recently created with windows server 2003?
Pretty brief, but important steps to check. sometimes mostly the issue is that the client computer has an account on the domain, but it has not been added to the domain from the client computer itself!
Make sure you create the account with proper permissions on the domain.
Make sure the client computer has an account on the Active Directory (AD), add the client computer to the AD, actually from the client itself (right click on my computer, properties, under the computer name tab you have the choice to ad the client computer to a domain).
Make sure you have setup a valid user name with permission to log on to the server.
make sure you're specifying to log on to the domain and not the local computer at the logon screen on the client computer.
--------------------------------------...
Set up AD on server.
Set up administrator account on server.
Go to client computer and right click on My Computer, click on properties, go to the Computer Name tab and click on change at rename this computer or add it to a domain.
