Matters I think, are you going to create the site and host it on your computer as a server, or hire some service where they build and host it, or it's one of those easy build it yourself and they host sites. If someone is doing this for you, they should offer .com s or .org s, or .co.uk s. But if you're hosting it on something like Apache http server, you need a dns.
