I'm making a website for my father's small business and I have a few questions about registering a domain name. I've built websites before, but never had my own domain name to work with and I'm a little confused.

My first question is where are the best - but also cheap - places to register a domain name? I am planning on using Yahoo's domain registration service, but if there's some place I'm missing that's better, please feel free to tell me!

My other, more important question is this: will there be advertisements of any kind on my domain name, if I register it on Yahoo? Let's say I register the domain name dadsbusiness.com and use basic HTML to upload a few web pages - will there be any popups or any ads on the site itself?

I've looked all over the Yahoo pages devoted to domain name registration and I can't find the answer to that ANYWHERE. Anyone who can tell me, straight-out, if Yahoo-registered domain names have ads on any of the webpages will not only get ten points, but will get all my appreciation!

"Will i have ads or not?" is based on your hosting, not the domain name.

I host with yahoo - i pay $12 a month - This includes hosting, domain name, e-mail @ my domain name and no ads. I've also purchased more domain names and simply linked them up with my hosting. Pretty simple and no one realizes that I only host at one place. All of my webpages seem like seperate sites.
