Free domain registration IS a scam. Forget the idea. Buying your own domain name costs US$8/year on 007names.com, for example.
If you let other person register your domain name "on your behalf" he/she will register under HIS/HER name, not yours, and be the legal ower of the domain name!!
Buy your own domain. Period, my friend.
