Hi, I have a flash website I have created and I want to upload it and have a domain name eg: xxx.com.au. That's it. Is there a host where I can upload all my files and also offers the domain registration? If the domain I want is already registered and they don't need it anymore, do I just ask them to close it? I am after a straight forward and simple process. I have been looking online and more confused than when I started.

I suggest you sign-up for a host that also offers free domain registration. There at such companies out there who offer good quality hosting with 1 year free domain registration. After the free year, you will have to pay for your domain but it would still be cheap enough. This 2 for 1s, as I call it, would allow for simple maintenance of your hosting/domain account as you'll only have one control panel for both. But be careful though cause even if the hosting company says they offer free 1 year domain registration, it doesn't always mean that after the initial year, and you renew your hosting contract, the domain registration will also renew.

I've experienced it when my domain registrar is different from my hosting, I thought then that upon renewing the hosting contract for another year, the domain registration is also renewed, it turned out that the domain registration was another process with another company! Imagine my surprise when suddenly my whole domain was down. Website inaccessible and can't access the emails. So, you got to clarify this first before you commit to any provider.
