I heard that Microsoft gives away free domain name registration for life. When I went to the website and I went to the page. I was about to signup when it said I would need to enter my credit card number to verify something(probably if I was 18 or older). I wasn't so sure about it but I don't think Microsoft is one of those kinds of companies that scams people. Has any one actually gotten one and was it ok?(BTW it says that you can get free, and paying plans)

Ok domain registration?or scam....?
I doubt they give away free domain registration for life. Never heard of it. They were giving away a free domain when someone registered to create a site using their Windows Live Office service.
They do have a free plan to create a website with a free domain name. However the domain name is free only for the first year and after that you will have to pay the going rate to renew it. I have one of their free sites and domain names, but as mentioned it is only free for one year. I think the credit card info is so they can automatically renew the domain name once the year is up.
I suggest you contact Microsoft directly and ask them. I don't know the exact link to reach them, but you should be able to find the information here http://www.microsoft.com/uk/businesscent...
