Plz help(and plz provide referance links,if u can)
If I register a .com domain name and if someone else registers a ccTLD (Country specific domain name) like .cn or .tw , and send me emails saying that if I want that .cn /.tw name I should pay them....what step should I take??
Is the .com has any kind of protection against this kiind of activity??
Please give referance.... thanks loads and loads (in advance)
Domain registration(someone stole my name!!!!)?
Holding the .com does not give you any sort of rights.. just ignore the other domains.. everyone always goes to .com anyway.. if they were to put a site on somesite.cn and advertise it half their traffic would come to somesite.com anyway.. people just remember the 'somesite' part and then automatically type in '.com'..
The only sort of protection you could have would be if you have a trademark on your site name.. then you could sue them in court and try to get them to stop using the name.. it's not always so easy though..
Good luck..
