If I want to buy a website do I have to register all my genuine information on the purchase page? If not will a false name affect advertising revenues?
Domain registration?
I believe that you are required to provide valid contact information, and failing to do so could result in forfeiture of your domain; of course, there are many thousands (perhaps millions) of domains with fake registration data out there.
It would certainly not help your site's credibility if the domain is registed to "Mickey Mouse, 123 Disney Lane, Anaheim" or some other obviously fictitious identity. You can choose to use "private registration," so that your data is not widely circulated, but there is generally an extra fee for this (I noticed that my registrar waives the fee for "private registration" if I buy 5 or more domains at once).
Domain registration?
You can register the domain with your information. You can add, during the registration, a privacy option. this means that the information is not displayed.
For example
this web site
http://www.dogs-world.net/
and this is the whois
http://whois.domaintools.com/dogs-world....
